Pro Farmer Crop Tour – Day 4 Update

On the Pro Farmer Crop Tour's final day, the fields looked green, healthy and consistent, a stark contrast from previous stops.

Corey Hulke, RCIS Claims Adjuster, and the tour stopped at 10 fields today, six in Minnesota and four in Iowa. He reported that soybean pod counts ranged from 1092 to 1795, and corn yield estimates ranged from 216 to 241 bushels/acre.

Summer in rural America is the season for tall, green corn swaying in the breeze, lush landscapes filled with fields of soybeans and blue skies with puffy white clouds. We can all imagine it with ease.

Crop insurance considerations heading into harvest

As the adage goes, you don't know what you have until it's gone. The same could be said for crop insurance: You don't know how important it is until you need it.
